My first reaction when I heard about our CTO leaving AIRBUS was a big surprise like many others
You were just embodying the real values a leader in AIRBUS should have : pragmatism, charismatics, humanity, intuition, and vision of what the future should look like.
On top of that many women colleagues told me that you were a model for them: nothing less than that.
For me you were simply a great source of inspiration that was able to create a real momentum in the R&T team as well as a real family like and friendly environment where people are not afraid to speak up and share their fears and Hope.
As a recent example , I was just impressed when you told us that you were ready to endorse our mistakes provided we would be completely transparent.
I was even more impressed to see that throughout the years you stayed the same person starting from Bremen where we met to help us find a solution for the A380 MSN001 flaps that could be overheated by the installed TrentXWB engine (for the A350 FTB): a human being with a lot of empathy and that makes you always feel at ease.
The way of working that you implemented in the R&T was a key driver for the efficiency of our projects, even despite a complex environment. I’m sure that the initiatives that you launched under your governance will bear fruit and will continue to shape the future of our company.
So simply THANK YOU for what you did, I’m just sad that you are leaving AIRBUS, and we will definitely miss you, but I’m sure you will find you way in the aerospace world where many opportunities are already waiting for you
